I Don't Need the Grand Duke's Regret - Chapter 25
Chapter 25

Armilla looked at the man’s actions with a bewildered face. If Nasir, the aide, is Ricardo’s right hand man, this person, the knight’s commander, is his left hand man. How should she respond to the hostility of such a person?
“Sir Ezio, it’s a misunderstanding.”
“Call me the knight commander.”
The man scattered the torn maps in front of Armilla and shot back.
“Misunderstanding or whatever, but our knights won’t look at the map you drew.”
“But it is what His Grace ordered.”
“Don’t make excuses in His Grace’s name. Do you think I didn’t know what you’re out to do? Where are you going to commit such a ridiculous fraud?”
Ezio growled and grabbed Armilla’s collar.
“Get away from Renato.”
“Ah…… !”
As the tall man put pressure on his hand, Armilla’s legs were lifted off the ground as her body was pulled up.
Armilla gasped for air and grabbed Ezio’s hand, which was clutching her collar.
“Let go…….”
Before Armilla could finish her sentence, Ezio loosened his hand. He threw Armilla away, giving the look that he felt terrible for touching her.
“Ah!”
Armilla let out a pitiful scream. Because she hadn’t been eating properly, the thin bones in her wrists hit bare against the floor.
Ezio, who had trained hard every day, would be able to crush her with just one hand.
He glared at Armilla, showing that he was holding back what he wanted to do right now. As he cracked his fingers, Armilla struggled to raise her body and protested.
“Can a knight attack a helpless person?”
An ordinary knight who took the knight’s oath would not do anything harsh to a woman in accordance with chivalry. Especially if he’s the knight’s commander, it goes without saying.
But Ezio snorted at Armilla’s question.
“I used to be a mercenary, so I don’t know about that. I only swore to follow my master’s orders.”
“Then, did His Grace order you to do this? Why do you always look at me like this…….”
“Shut up!”
Ezio grew furious at Armilla’s questioning and grabbed her hair. A fire flashed in the pale gray eyes of the man holding her red hair.
“Don’t open your mouth carelessly. I’ve been watching things like you that I got sick of it. Things that try to seduce a man using the face. Even if you go to the city right now, there will be plenty. Others may not know, but I won’t be fooled.”
Armilla frowned at the pain in her scalp and bit her lips. Ezio was treating her like a street prostitute. The stark hostility filled her with sadness.
“I’m not like that. Who I am…….”
“Ha! You don’t remember? At least be creative for me to pretend to believe. You used the excuse of luckily saving the master from a beast to get into Renato, and now you dare to covet the position beside the master?”
Armilla glared at Ezio with wet eyes.
Everyone hates Armilla. Because Armilla was a vixen who seduced the Grand Duke.
“Hey, listen to me.”
Ezio brought his face closer to Armilla. The distance between the two had become so close that from a distance people could have mistakenly thought they were lovers sharing a hug. Ezio put his lips to Armilla’s ear and whispered.
“It’s not too late. If you don’t know where to go, I’ll at least introduce you to a place to warm up the bed for the night. If you don’t like it, I’ll send you to a convent. What about that?”
“You…… !”
“Ezio.”
Armilla was about to push Ezio away when her patience ran out. A quiet voice came from behind the two.
Ezio, hearing his master’s low voice, jumped up like a spring.
“Your Grace!”
“You said you would bring a sword, but you were wasting time here.”
Ezio was startled by Ricardo’s sharp question and straightened his back. He answered stiffly with a disciplined face.
“Forgive me!”
“If you get that, move quickly.”
“Yes!”
Ezio placed his fist on his chest and bowed. Ricardo gave the knight commander a glance and then looked at Armilla.
Armilla ignored Ezio’s eyes shooting her way. She raised her body as she heard his footsteps receding.
“It didn’t rain today.”
Ricardo, who was looking at Armilla, narrowed his eyes at her. Then, as he was examining her, he looked at Armilla’s chests and frowned.
Since she had just left the study, she was wearing a thin spring dress. As it was soaked, the shape of her upper chest was clearly visible.
“Did I interfere?”
“What?”
“I was wondering if you were having a good time with Ezio.”
Armilla, who widened her eyes at Ricardo’s words, belatedly realized her condition when she saw his gaze. She quickly turned her body around and covered her chest with both hands.
“This, this is by chance.”
“By chance?”
Ricardo continued in a languid tone.
“I got wet by accident. In that state, I met Sir Ezio by chance and we talked.”
Before Armilla had time to make an excuse, her body flipped around. The cold, sharp gaze fell on Armilla.
“Did you make a deal with Ezio too? Or maybe that’s what you were trying to do.”
“No!”
Armilla was startled by the suspicions that Ricardo had raised against her. She quickly shook her head.
“Absolutely not, Your Grace. All I have is Your Grace.”
“You will have to.”
Ricardo, who was looking intently at Armilla, muttered. His hand tightened around her slender shoulder.
“Keep that in mind. The Grand Duchess must look only at the Grand Duke and be faithful only to him. I will never allow you to be with someone else.”
Armilla blinked her eyes. It goes without saying that she should be faithful to her spouse. However, Ricardo’s spirit as he spoke about that was even more somber. As if he was trying to brainwash her.
“Do you understand?”
“…… yes.”
Armilla, caught in Ricardo’s sight, nodded her head in fascination.
