I Don't Need the Grand Duke's Regret - Chapter 15
Chapter 15

“Did Your Grace skip the search?”
Armilla asked back, startled by Paolo’s words. Paolo spoke with a disapproving expression.
“Yes, while you were sick the Master took care of you the whole time. He even skipped the Princess’ search. You should be grateful.”
Armilla lost her breath at Paolo’s blunt remark. Not because of the way he spoke, but because of the facts he conveyed.
Ricardo had never missed the Princess’ search, not even once.
He even went on a search on the day the snow fell terribly, when Ezio, the Captain of the knights, said that it would be enough and asked to just report it to Segolinde and the Imperial Family.
Armilla said in a trembling voice as she looked at Ricardo.
“I didn’t know.”
“You wouldn’t know. If you knew all that and still be brazen enough to lie down…….”
“It’s getting long.”
When the butler’s rebuke was about to pour out to Armilla, Ricardo raised his hand and stopped it. Paolo bowed his head, clasping his hands together politely at his master’s command.
“Please forgive me. I was upset because the Master had suffered so far.”
“Yes, so you can go.”
After sending Paolo away, Ricardo looked at Nasir. Nasir looked at Ricardo and Armilla alternately, then spoke again with a flustered face.
“That letter is here again. What should I do?”
“It’s about time they come.”
“Should I reply like last time?”
“Do what you want. I will do as I always do.”
Ricardo just gave a brief response and got up from the sofa. He looked out the window into the bright sunlight and said nonchalantly.
“The search should be easy today.”
“Are you leaving?”
Armilla’s voice was filled with regret as she watched Ricardo leave the bedroom. Ricardo said without even looking at her.
“Three days is enough rest. The magic problem has also been treated.”
His tone of voice showed that he stayed by her side not because he was worried about her, but because of responsibility. Armilla felt depressed when her heart trembled a little at Paolo’s story.
Ricardo, unaware that Armilla’s eyes were slowly darkening, glanced at Nasir. Nasir looked at Armilla and then approached Ricardo.
“I will speak to Ezio and ready the Black Wolf Knights.”
“Get Paolo to do that, you take the letter. Report on the progress of the wall repair work in the evening.”
“Understood.”
Ricardo, who was giving instructions to Nasir, suddenly turned to Armilla. When her eyes met his, she bundled up the blanket in surprise.
She wanted to tell him not to go. She wanted to ask him to stay with her. But that’s something she shouldn’t do. Armilla didn’t deserve it.
She intended to go to the Magic Tower to find her memories after completing the border map and repaying Ricardo’s kindness. She didn’t want to idle by Ricardo’s side, just waiting for her memory to return.
Although her eyes and mind were directed to Ricardo, she must not desire him. A noble Princess would be more suitable by his side than a lowly woman with an imperfect memory.
“Have a good trip, Your Grace.”
After reflecting on her situation, Armilla greeted him. Hearing her send off, Ricardo’s hand approached. He brushed her bracelet and whispered softly.
“Wait quietly. I will be back.”
Armilla quietly nodded her head. Even if she didn’t want to, she wanted to wait for him forever. Even though she shouldn’t, she wanted to wait for him.

“Lady Armilla, you should be resting!”
Nasir was surprised to welcome Armilla who had come to the study. She had only woken up during the day today, so of course he thought she shouldn’t leave the bedroom.
Armilla had come to the study at her usual time. Nasir could not hide his surprise as he prepared to write a letter to Segolinde.
“You don’t have to overdo it. It’s just a border map. You can take your time drawing it.”
“No.”
Armilla smiled somewhat forlornly. She looked down at Nasir’s letter and said gloomily.
“I want to complete the map as soon as possible. So that I can leave here as soon as possible.”
“What? Are you leaving?”
“I can’t stay here forever.”
Armilla said, unable to hide her bitterness. Her gaze still lingered on Nasir’s letter.
If the Princess was alive, and if she returned, Armilla should not be here. The probability of the Princess being alive was extremely low, but even if there was a 1% chance, it was still a possibility.
“I don’t want to be a burden.”
“Why would you say that? Lady Armilla is the Master’s benefactor. You are a respected guest of the Vittore family of Renato.”
“The only person who tells me that I am an honored guest is Nasir.”
“Lady Armilla…….”
Nasir looked sorry at Armilla’s answer. At some point, he noticed that in Armilla’s eyes as she looked at Ricardo there was a subtle heat.
It’s no surprise that Armilla was developing feelings for Ricardo. Because all the women who saw Ricardo were like that.
But Armilla was a little different. Unlike the women who shamelessly throw themselves upon Ricardo, she was eager to hide her heart. So Nasir was more concerned about Armilla.
Armilla shrank like a sinner, as if losing her memory had been a great fault.
That is why Nasir volunteered to educate Armilla. Except for him, the people of Renato felt uncomfortable with Armilla.
Those were understandable coming from those who are loyal to Ricardo.
It would be distasteful for a young and pretty woman to be by the Master’s side, especially after he lost his fiance.
It would be unknown when Armilla would harbor a dark intention and hide in Ricardo’s bedroom. There were plenty of women who wanted to become nobles’ mistresses using that tactic.
Besides, Ricardo is at the top among the nobles. The Grand Duke who is favored by the Emperor. It is their duty as an employee to protect Ricardo’s noble lineage.
But all of this was a misunderstanding because they didn’t know Armilla well.
