I Don't Need the Grand Duke's Regret - Chapter 14
Chapter 14
Translator: effe
Ricardo grabbed Armilla’s chin and tightened it slightly. Her tightly closed mouth naturally opened.
He pushed his tongue through her mouth. As their mouths completely overlap, his hot breath spreads into Armilla’s mouth.
Along with that, the purple magic seeped into Armilla’s body. Armilla, who had been trembling and resisting, gradually stopped, and she began to concentrate on her kiss with Ricardo.
Ricardo moved his tongue as he hugged her slender body closer. He wrapped around her stiff tongue, rubbing it softly and releasing it, and clasping her thin waist.
The kiss that first started simply to infuse magic was kindling a fire between the two before they realized it.
“Haa…….”
Ricardo, who had been aggressively tangling his tongue with Armilla’s, pulled back his mouth slowly as her breathing subsided.
In front of Ricardo’s vision, Armilla looked like a blooming edelweiss.
But Ricardo was not swayed by it. He still looked at her with cold eyes, as if they had never shared a hot kiss.
“Are you awake?”
Armilla’s closed eyelids flinched at his question in his flat tone.
The red eyelashes quivered, revealing the dark green eyes that were hidden behind it. Suiting her corpse-pale complexion, the light in her eyes was dim.
Ricardo called out to Armilla while carefully observing her condition.
“Armilla.”
“Hu-uht.”
Armilla exhaled heavily at Ricardo’s call. Her lips trembled and she made a sound that seemed to have been pulled from the bottom of her throat.
“…… ve …… me.”
“What?”
Armilla took a heavy breath again qgwb Ricardo listened. She said her words in the exhaled breath.
“Save me.”
With those words, Armilla lost consciousness.
* * *
Her eyes opened to the enveloping bright light. The soft bedding was wrapping her body. Armilla opened her eyes, feeling deja vu at this warmth.
Armilla was lying in her bedroom. Seeing the familiar canopy and ceiling, she knew she had lost consciousness.
“You’re awake.”
As she blinked her eyes blankly, a low voice came. Armilla frowned and looked for the source of the sound.
There sat the neatly dressed Ricardo. Armilla observed his changed clothing and tried to gauge how much time had passed.
“Three days.”
Ricardo promptly read Armilla’s gaze and answered her question.
“You were unconscious for three days.”
“…… ah.”
“Has this happened to you before? Do you pass out often…….”
As he questioned Armilla, Ricardo bit his lips and laughed.
“I had asked a stupid question. If you had remembered ‘before’, you wouldn’t be here.”
Armilla looked at Ricardo silently and then raised her body. As she stumbled, Ricardo gave a look at the maid, who was waiting next to her.
It was the gray-haired maid who always took the lead when bullying Armilla. The maid put a pillow behind Armilla’s back with an expressionless face.
The servants of the mansion were courteous to Armilla in front of their Master. Only the butler and the chief maid who did not hide their true feelings. So that was why Armilla could entrust her body to the maid while Ricardo is here.
Leaning against the head of the bed with the maid’s help, Armilla took a breath. It has been three days. It felt like she had only closed her eyes for a moment. It was amazing how time flows.
Armilla stared blankly at the fireplace and spoke.
“I don’t know if I pass out often or if I was like this in the past. Because I don’t remember anything. But at least I haven’t fainted since coming to this mansion. I would often lose consciousness while being treated by Your Excellency, but as you know, I woke up quickly.”
“Then by any chance, is there any reason why you don’t want to leave Renato? It’s like you’re afraid of finding your memories.”
“I don’t know.”
Armilla shrugged her shoulders at Ricardo, who asked her questions like the doctor. A corner of her chest stung as she pretended not to mind his questioning.
She realized that she did not want to leave Ricardo. But she didn’t want to get caught this way. So Armilla made a plausible reason.
“I think I had a cold. I have a slight fever.”
“Fever?”
Ricardo’s hand came up to her forehead at her words. As his cold hand touched her, Armilla bit her lips in confusion. She was embarrassed that he found out right away that she didn’t have a fever.
“You don’t have a fever.”
Armilla made excuses for Ricardo’s diagnosis.
“The fever must have gone down in the meantime. I had a good rest.”
“Then you’re fine now?”
“Yes, I am fine.”
“You sure?”
Armilla, who was about to nod her head like a habit, squeezed her arm for no reason. To break the awkward mood, she smiled brightly at Ricardo.
“Yes, I am sure.”
“…… alright.”
Ricardo clasped his hand, looking like he didn’t quite believe her. He watched Armilla then lifted the bell from the bedside table, and briefly waved it. As soon as the little bell rang, a knock came from outside the door.
The door opened, and Nasir appeared. He was followed by Paolo and a middle-aged man who seemed to be of similar age.
“Examine her.”
“Yes, Master.”
The man lifted the leather bag he had been carrying and came over to the bed. He seemed to be a doctor.
Armilla gave her wrist to the doctor and looked at Ricardo. He seemed angry. It looked like his expressionless face as usual, but only Armilla could tell that he was angry.
“How is it?”
“She is weak, but if she eats well, she will be fine soon.”
“What about her rejection reaction?”
“The reason is unclear. It won’t happen again, but if you’re concerned, I’ll make her a medicine to help with the magic circulation.”
“So be it.”
The doctor bowed at Ricardo’s command and left the bedroom with the maid.
Now only Nasir, Paolo, Ricardo and Armilla were left in the bedroom. As Ricardo rubbed his temple, Paolo stepped forward and said to him.
“Master, Captain Ezio asked if you would be absent from the search again today.”
