Chapter 9.2
“Excuse me.”
“What’s going on?”
“If you continue to stay here, it’d be troublesome…”
“What do you mean?”
…Was he asking because he really doesn’t know? April sighed as she looked at the customer who had just left the cafe as if they were running away.
“Because of the Duke, customers can’t come. If you want to convince Asher, you’ll have to do something else…”
“What method are you talking about? Asher doesn’t want to see me.”
At those words, April kept her mouth shut.
‘…That’s right.’
After declaring his intention to live here, Asher hurriedly retreated into his room, apparently thinking that if he stayed outside, he might be caught by Claude. On the other hand, Claude didn’t want to invade his personal space, so instead of following the child, he sat at the café.
No matter who saw it, he exuded an evil aura.
“If you call Asher, I’ll try to persuade him.”
“I’ve already called him a few times, but he said he wouldn’t come out.”
“Then, how do I convince him.”
“Come back another time. Don’t do this here.”
To be honest, she didn’t want to be associated with Claude anymore.
‘I don’t have a good feeling because of the original story.’
They had already subverted the original story. There was no way for Zenon Olsen to use her to cure Claude’s insomnia nor to assassinate him, so there was no need for him to kill her like in the original story. Nonetheless, being in the same room as the man who was destined to kill her wasn’t very pleasant.
You never know. Perhaps the original immutable law would kick in, and Claude would try to kill her for some other reason.
As April put on an involuntary expression on her face without even realizing it, Claude, who had been watching her, picked up the menu on the table.
“If the customer is the problem, shouldn’t I just order the menu?”
“That’s not what I’m saying…”
He swiped the menu from top to bottom with the back of his hand.
“I’ll take everything from here to here.”
‘I was surely going to ask him to leave…’
April clamped her open mouth shut. It was too many orders to ask him to get out.

‘Is having a lot of money everything?’
Certainly, money was the best in Korea or here… especially for April, who runs the cafe, Claude, her customer, was king.
‘If you think about it, isn’t it true? It was a problem because he didn’t order anything, but now he did, so he’s a customer.’
With that rationalization, April dutifully created the drinks from the menu. When she told him that it’d take time to make a variety of drinks from the menu, Claude changed the menu, saying, “Then, I’ll take 10 Americano.”
Thanks to this, she was able to make coffee easily.
After grinding and brewing today’s freshly roasted beans, the warm water was poured over and over again.
It was a bit of a drag, but April felt better when smelling the fragrant coffee.
‘He might be a little annoying, but I hope he enjoys his coffee.’
April hummed excitedly, so much so that she didn’t see the light flicker briefly in the cup of the Americano before disappearing.

“The Americano you ordered is here.”
Saying so, she placed a cup of coffee and a plate of freshly cooked pancakes in front of Claude, who was reading the newspaper.
His gaze fell to the pancakes.
“What about this?”
“It’s service. This is the first time a customer has ordered 10 cups at a time in my café.”
There was a slightly hidden meaning in her words, but Claude didn’t react.
“By the way, what about the other nine cups? Are you going to drink them all by yourself?”
“Ah.”
As he beckoned out the window, Lloyd, the wizard, and the knights quickly entered and took their seats so April set down the coffee cups in front of them. Even then, there were still three cups of coffee left.
“These three cups…”
Before she could finish her words, the bell chimed and the door opened. A woman walked in, holding a child’s hand.
“I want to drink some coffee, too… Huuk! I’m sorry—”
Claude shook his head as the woman turned to leave in a hurry.
“Come in.”
“…No, I’m all right.”
“Didn’t I tell you to come in?”
‘Duke, this isn’t the Duke’s estate! Don’t order my customers around…!’
April barely held back what she wanted to shout and touched her forehead. No matter how much she thought about it, this man seemed to be sabotaging her business. In the meanwhile, not daring to go against Claude’s wishes, the woman took her child and sat down in the seat farthest away from him.
He nodded towards her this time.
“You can give the drink over there.”
“Ah, yes.”
Answering with a bitter face, April smiled as she set the cup down in front of the woman.
“This is…?”
“It’s a drink called Americano. It’s the most basic of coffee drinks. Don’t worry, he’s paying for it.”
