I Became the Villain's Master - Chapter 72
Chapter 72
“Yeah. Do you want it?”
“It’s not for me, but I need it for something. Can you put in one or two magic spell on it?”
“Sure? I’ll get it for you right away. What magic spell should I put in? A spell that turns things to ash when you shout a trigger word? That’s too nice of a way to die.” Kiris said something so horrible so nonchalantly that I shook my head.
“I, it’s not something like that…”
“I’ll make you a magical tool to use next time.”
I nodded at his meaningful addition. Yeah, Kiris, do whatever you want!
I had already given up halfway. As long as he doesn’t cause me any trouble, I don’t care.
I barely calmed Kiris down and explained my plan step by step.
“Actually…”
“I will explain the magical spell that will be engraved on the magic tool along with the plan.”
Kiris’ frown narrowed as he listened to the explanation, then spread into a smile.
“I’ll make it right away. But I don’t want to do it for nothing.”
“Huh? A price?”
“Yeah. Mistress.”
At the word “price,” my mind drifted to unpleasant thoughts because of what Kiris had said. He wouldn’t ask me to help him with magic experiments, would he?
“Can I hear it first and then decide?”
At my words, Kiris took my hand with a decadent smile.
“There are two things.”
“Two things?”
“Yeah.”
Kiris’ breath touched my forehead. My shoulders tightened involuntarily, and my body stiffened.
Kiris slowly, slowly opened his lips.
“First, I would like you to be my partner.”
“If you’re a partner… are you talking about a banquet?”
“Yeah. For life.”
It seemed like something was off, but I nodded nonchalantly. I don’t go to banquets often anyway, and Kiris is always there as my escort.
“Um… and then?”
“The second thing.”
Kiris’ finger brushed my burning ear. Kiris whispered, his red eyes twinkling.
“I want to invite you to the Magic Tower.”
“The Magic Tower?”
“Yeah. I’d like you to come with me when you’re free. What do you think?”
My heart pounded as I met his unwavering red eyes.
Mayday! Mayday!
Who could refuse with that kind of face and sweet words!
“Okay.”
I naturally nodded my head.
“Then I’ll bring you tomorrow.”
Kiris let go of my body, which he had been holding close, with a satisfied smile. I felt a little awkward, but I decided to focus only on Leila issue.
* * *
Leila bit her lip as she rummaged through Rosette’s dressing room.
The dresses made by the most famous fashion house in the empire, Montblanc, filled the dressing room. Not only that, but there were diamond bracelets, pearl necklaces imported from the East.
Expensive trinkets were so lavishly displayed that her eyes popped out.
‘How did my sister get these kinds of dresses…!’
Leila frowned and touched her own dress. A light yellow dress made by the Montblanc fashion house after a two-month wait.
It was nothing compared to Rosette’s dress, which was adorned with diamonds.
‘This must have been done by the Tower Lord.’
Leila thought of Rosette, who used to be as obedient as a maid.
She felt a strange sense of superiority whenever Rosette wore an outdated dress and fidgeted in front of her.
It seemed that she had been rebelling little by little for a few years, but she hadn’t acted in a way that bothered her much, so she had left her alone.
One day, she disappeared, leaving only a note.
She was so surprised.
‘But why is she under the patronage of the Magic Tower? And she even has the trust of the Tower Lord?’
Leila nervously brushed her hair. At first, she thought Rosette would return to the family soon. After all, she wouldn’t be able to live alone even if she became independent.
She would surely kneel and apologize for her mistakes. However, when she didn’t hear from her for several days, she sent a servant to track Rosette down.
She found out her location after a few months and went to get her herself, but to no avail.
And then, out of the blue, people said that she was under the patronage of the Magic Tower. Of course, the family didn’t believe it, and they kept sending letters, but there was no response. And the most curious thing of all was that she hadn’t been invited to the Imperial Banquet.
This was the first time the Viscount Cernia family hadn’t been invited. She had been looking forward to this day and had gotten new dresses and trinkets made.
‘It’s because of my brother, Lionel. If I had gone, my sister would have come back.’
Leila blamed Lionel for his mistake. If she had come like this, things would have been different. She knew that she shouldn’t be emotional when dealing with something related to the Magic Tower.
“Well, it’s okay. I’m here now.”
Leila curled her lips. After watching her for a few days, she realized that her sister was still afraid of her. The way she obeyed all of her demands was the same as in the past.
‘If only I could meet the Tower Lord…’
She didn’t know what kind of ability Rosette had used to seduce the Tower Lord and receive his patronage, but she was sure that the Tower Lord’s mind would change if he saw her, who was much more beautiful and charming.
‘Then I’ll be able to get all of this sponsored.’
Leila felt the urge to tear Rosette’s dress to shreds, but she generously let it go.
If she just coaxed Rosette a little more, she would be hers.
