Chapter 285

As expected, when she looked at Helios again, his eyes were now red.
“Sera. What’s wrong?”
“Is there something wrong?”
Rosé and Ferre tried to stop her by grabbing her arms.
Though they came closer with grim faces, telling her not to do so, Sera slowly stood up.
“You’re not the real Rosé and Ferre.”
Whispering softly as if casting a spell, the figures of Rosé and Ferre dissolved into the air like smoke.
‘Helios’, having anticipated all this, didn’t pretend to be surprised and approached Sera.
Adopting the guise of the person she loved most, he whispered cruelly sweet words.
“Waking up will only hurt you. It will be difficult. There’s no guarantee that going outside will allow you to marry me. It’s much better to live comfortably in a dream.”
He kept injecting into her mind images of people who disapproved of her for not being able to use magic, suggesting her future would unfold that way if she escaped the twisted dream.
That’s right. It’s impossible. Despite her inner turmoil, he whispered in her ear again.
“Time outside is different. Even if you wake up, you can’t guarantee how much time has passed. So, give up.”
Disguised as Helios, he gently smiled and embraced Sera.
As if trapped by a demon’s temptation, Sera weakly reached her arms around his back.
It was then that the figure of Belzebuth, masquerading as Helios, began to shatter.
“Ah… NOOO!”
Returning to his original form, Belzebuth opened his red eyes wide and shouted.
Sera looked straight into those eyes glaring at her.
“You said it’s my dream. So, I thought I should be able to do at least one thing my way.”
If this dream showed her the fantasies she had envisioned, then Sera believed she could change a few things at her will.
The first was the illusion of the children disappearing with a single sentence about wanting to see the real Rosé and Ferre, and the second was the holy relic in Sera’s hand now thrust into Belzebuth.
As the demon screamed in pain, Sera drove the relic deeper into his back.
With each piece of the demon breaking apart, a blinding light increasingly filled her vision.
And finally, a pure white light enveloped everything.
“Sera!”
It seemed like the real Helios’s voice was calling out to her.
* * *
Blinded by bright golden light, Sera gasped for air.
The sensation of divine power spreading throughout her body allowed her to quickly realize where she was.
Feeling as if she had awoken from a long sleep, Sera took a deep breath.
While trying to open her eyes several times, a muffled voice spoke right next to her ear.
“Sera.”
Just the voice alone made her tear up, knowing who it was.
After several attempts to open her eyes, through her blurry vision, she saw the faces she had longed to see.
“…Ah.”
Among them was the face of the person she had most wanted to see, closest to her.
“He…li…”
Her voice was hoarse from not speaking for so long, mixing with a cry and a laugh in an odd expression. Warm, golden eyes met hers.
Sera tried to move her weak body, desiring to get up.
“Don’t strain yourself.”
Helios whispered tenderly and carefully helped her sit up with his gentle hands.
Looking at him with a calm gaze, Sera felt caught in a distant sensation as she reached out her trembling hand to his cheek.
He seemed a bit more gaunt than before, making his features appear sharper.
“I’m not in a dream… am I?”
Helios, holding Sera’s hands, slowly nodded with eyes threatening to burst with tears.
The end of his gentle and kind smile mixed with concern and longing for her.
It was then that she truly felt the long dream had ended, and she was back in her original world.
Tears burst from her eyes uncontrollably, realizing it was reality. Not an illusion created by Belzebuth, nor the fantasies she desired, but the real reality.
“I thought… I thought I would never see you again!”
Helios carefully embraced Sera, who began to sob. He softly patted her back, soothing her like a child.
“It’s okay. It’s all over now.”
With every whisper from Helios, a sense of relief visited Sera, and she cried out loud.
She had been scared. Scared that she would be trapped in that dream forever and never see him again.
“I missed you, Helios.”
“I missed you very much too.”
Though many people were in the room, no one intervened between Sera and Helios. They just quietly shed tears of joy.
As Sera’s crying subsided, new people entered, and the crowd parted to make way for them. It was because Rosé and Ferre were standing at a distance, teary-eyed.
“I remembered you said to bring them along in such times.”
Araela looked at Helios, seeking permission with a careful glance. Helios quietly smiled, conveying his approval to her.
“Sera…”
“Is it really… has Sera really woken up?”
Ferre and Rosé mumbled with dazed eyes, seemingly unable to believe that Sera, who had been asleep for so long, had finally awakened.
Hesitating to move, the children kept rubbing their red eyes, repeatedly checking if what they were seeing was correct.
“Your Highness Rosé… Your Highness Ferre…”
The moment Sera called out the children’s names, Rosé and Ferre burst into tears.
