“You cannot go any further, Duke Cross. Please step back.”
The knights blocked Saruvia’s path.
People, realizing the urgency of the situation, began to move Rosé and Ferre away from the scene.
Saruvia, noticing that their actions were meant to buy time, glared coldly at the knights.
“How troublesome you all are.”
Gritting her teeth, Saruvia spoke, prompting the knights to press their swords closer to her neck.
Simultaneously, the mages who were watching rushed over, ready to cast spells immediately if Saruvia made the slightest wrong move, creating a tense atmosphere.
“I told you to step back!”
Another shout from a knight aiming at Saruvia caused the swords that were pointed at her to suddenly quiver and change direction.
In an instant, the eyes of the onlookers widened. The tips of the swords turned towards the knights themselves without anyone having the chance to intervene.
Thwack!
Screams tore through the air from all sides.
“Ugh!”
The redirected swords ended up attacking their owners. The knights, looking down at their blood-spreading torsos, coughed up blood and collapsed.
“Protect Their Highnesses!”
Amidst the chaos, with no clear indication of who gave the command, the mages and knights launched an assault on Saruvia.
As another tragedy unfolded following the fire, people screamed and began to flee.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Saruvia effortlessly deflected any attack thrown at her.
The stronger the attacks became, the more powerfully Saruvia reflected them back.
Ta-dak, ta-dak.
With each step Saruvia took, more people fell to the ground, bleeding, as the loyal knights and priests tried in vain to stop her.
Finally, spotting Rosé and Ferre being carried away by the priests, a smile crept onto Saruvia’s lips.
“Princess Rosé. Prince Ferre. How far do you plan to run?”
Singing in a languid voice, Saruvia clapped her hands with a snap.
The priests carrying Rosé and Ferre suddenly stopped in their tracks.
“Why…!”
“What… what’s happening!”
Rosé and Ferre, crying, began pounding on the priests’ bodies. The priests turned as if they had become stone, not moving an inch.
“N…No…”
One of the knights on the ground groaned and grabbed Saruvia’s ankle.
Saruvia, with her eyes devoid of any warmth, looked down menacingly and twisted, then stepped on his wrist.
“Hiiic.”
Rosé and Ferre cried even louder at the terrifying sight of Saruvia, but there was no one left to help them.
“Don’t come… Don’t come here!”
“Go away!”
Terrified, the children attempted to use the magic they had learned, albeit weakly, to resist.
As the children casted spells in desperation, Saruvia sauntered towards them and soon grabbed their hands and forced them to clench their fists.
The sparks of magic that had been crackling vanished in an instant.
“Stop!”
“Go away!”
Rosé and Ferre cried and resisted fiercely, but Saruvia remained unphased.
After taking the children from the petrified priests and placing them on the ground, Rosé and Ferre, their legs giving out, sat on the ground and cried out loud.
“Hyung…!”
“Please… save us. Save us!”
“Hyung!”
“Oppa!”
Their cries were deafening. Saruvia watched the two children quietly with an impassive face.
“Keep your mouths shut.”
Her whisper was chilling, sending shivers down the spine. Rosé and Ferre, petrified with fear, gasped for breath.
With nothing else to rely on, they tightly held each other’s hands.
Saruvia forced the children to stand up. Breaking away from the grasp, she caught both of their hands.
“Announce it. Tell everyone that Belzebuth has appeared in the Adelio Empire. If he wants to retrieve what he has lost, he must hand over that woman.”

When Jean arrived with the priests, the fire had mostly been subdued.
It was possible because there were more than just a couple of priests called in anticipation of unforeseen circumstances.
As Saruvia disappeared without a trace, the mages, following Helios’s command, immediately used tracking magic.
However, as expected, the curse used by the demon was different from the magic they practiced, making tracking difficult.
“Your Majesty… It’s impossible…”
Roward, who had been casting spells to no avail, cautiously bowed his head to Helios.
Ultimately, with a slight nod from Helios to stop the magic, he closed and then opened his heavy eyes.
A sense of powerlessness overwhelmed him, knowing there was nothing he could do.
“Your Majesty…”
Sera, having recovered somewhat, approached him.
Helios’s dark gaze fell on Sera’s hand.
“Are you alright?”
“Yes.”
Aware that her hand had turned black, Sera extended it towards him. Like the pain that had been cleaned away, her hand was now clean.
“Yes, I’m fine now.”
“That’s a relief.”
“Thank you for saving me.”
Even after hearing she was okay, Helios still couldn’t take his eyes off her hand.
Sera intuited that the reason was the fact that Helios had been hiding something from her all this time.
‘What exactly did Duke Cross mean?’
Though she had many questions, Sera chose to remain silent.
He looked like he was about to break down. The shock seemed great for Helios.
“Your Majesty…! Your Majesty! It’s a disaster…!”
At that moment, a knight collapsed at the door. Dragging his injured leg, covered in blood, he had come.
A few priests who were extinguishing the remaining embers rushed to support him.
“Your Majesty. The… Duke has…”
Helios’s eyes darkened.
The knight’s face was smeared with tears and blood.
“Their Highnesses have been kidnapped!”
Helios clenched his fists tightly. Sera was so shocked that she staggered.
“And she said… she is… Belzebuth…”
Helios closed his eyes as if he had already known.
