I Became the Tutor of the Royal Twins - Chapter 257
Chapter 257

—
Under the dazzling chandeliers, people in various costumes and splendid attire filled the imperial palace’s banquet hall.
Men in silver armor and masks, along with women whose faces were veiled in white, were a common sight.
Mostly, the nobles favored dressing as the most popular figures: knights and priestesses.
“Sera’s as a priestess today!”
“Sera looks beautiful as always!”
Rosé and Ferre ran towards Sera, cheering from a distance.
Distracted by the magnificent scene of the foundation festival’s eve, Sera turned her attention to Rosé and Ferre.
She lifted the thin white veil covering her face and waved at the twins.
Rosé, in a lightweight, white silk dress, and Ferre, in knight’s attire minus only a mask, resembling a grown man’s attire, looked like little dolls.
“Your Highness Rosé makes a cute priestess.”
“Me? What about me?”
“Your Highness Ferre, you are a brave little knight.”
“Today, Ferre and I wore the brooches you gave us. It seemed like they would match perfectly!”
Rosé and Ferre happily spun around, showing off their chests where the small dove-shaped brooches she had given them as a farewell gift sparkled.
“Did Sera see Helios Oppa today yet?”
“Not yet.”
“We saw him first, and Helios Hyung looks so cool!”
“Oppa dressed up like a knight going to war today!”
Excited voices of Rosé and Ferre acted like a spell, drawing Sera’s gaze towards the emperor’s vacant throne on the stage.
“His Majesty said he would make his entrance last and give the opening speech, right?”
Araella, who had been guarding Sera’s side since they were discovered escorting her with Jean, spoke as she looked in the same direction as Sera.
Having spent more time together, Araella had become much closer to Sera, comfortably exchanging words.
“Yes. He should be appearing soon.”
As soon as Sera finished speaking, the music that filled the ballroom stopped.
The crowd’s attention shifted towards the central staircase, and a herald announced the emperor’s arrival in a ringing voice.
“His Majesty must have arrived!”
“Sera, Hyung’s here!”
Holding out both hands to Rosé and Ferre, Sera turned towards where Araella pointed.
Sera gasped softly at the sight of Helios, his face half-hidden by a silver mask.

After finishing his speech wishing for the empire’s prosperity and eternity, Helios chose to look for Sera and his siblings instead of returning to his seat.
Usually, people would have recognized him and made way, but with faces hidden, the journey through the crowd was longer. However, he followed Sera with a calm gaze.
Even among the similarly dressed crowd, finding Sera was easy.
Even a white veil could not hide her flowing black hair and graceful movements.
Within the joyous foundation festival, Helios’s nerves grew sharper by the day.
Anxiety and restlessness. The constant worry of when and where she might be attacked plagued him.
Was it because this was a large gathering?
Though the palace was deemed the safest place, particularly today felt unusually unsettling.
The consolation from Raphael and Jean—that never before had the palace been so guarded by knights, mages, and priests—offered little comfort.
“Sera.”
Approaching step by step, Helios placed his hand on the shoulder of Sera, who wore a white tunic dress.
“Your Majesty!”
Even with a mask on, Sera recognized him instantly as well, and she gave him a bright smile.
Through the translucent veil, her deep blue eyes beamed with delight.
The emotions flooding in were relief because she was well, and guilt because he had yet to tell her the most important thing.
The fact that he hadn’t told Sera gnawed at him again, and he swallowed a bitter laugh at her willingness to do whatever she could.
“Nothing happened, right?”
“Of course. What could have possibly happened?”
“Just worried there might have been many asking you to dance.”
Straining a smile, Helios managed to regain his composure.
“That’s unlikely.”
“No way, Oppa. That happened a lotta times.”
Rosé intervened as Sera was about to deny it.
Ferre, too, shook his head excitedly, denying her claim.
“A lotta guys came to ask Sera to dance, too. Right, Hyung!”
Helios locked eyes with Sera, who was evidently bashful.
“Is that so?”
“It was nothing.”
Sera murmured in a small voice, seeming embarrassed.
But the twins were unwilling to let her off the hook and quickly added with gleeful expressions.
“But Hyung, you don’t need to worry. Me and Rosé chased away everyone who came to ask Sera to dance.”
“That’s right, that’s right. Helios Oppa, I told them Sera has someone she’s seeing so they should all go away.”
“So all those guys left with their ears red.”
Rosé and Ferre held one of her hands each, puffing out their chests proudly.
They seemed to want praise, acting like knights protecting Sera.
