Despite Being an Extra, I'm the Villain's Childhood Friend - Chapter 43.1
Chapter 43.1
When neither of the boys responded, Izeline mumbled awkwardly.
Eventually, Michael, who had been staring blankly, blinked as if coming to his senses. Soon, he put on his usual gentle smile and took a step towards her.
“Lady Izeline.”
As if reenacting a scene from a ball, he extended his hand with an elegant gesture.
“Would you like to dance with me?”
Izeline’s eyes widened before she smiled gracefully.
“Hmm. Sure.”
As she gently placed her hand on his palm, Michael bowed with grace and kissed the back of her hand.
It was a picturesque moment.
Robert, who had been staring blankly at Izeline, belatedly realized the situation and came to his senses as if struck by lightning. Then, with a contorted expression, he charged between the two.
“You d*mn b*stard!”
Swoosh!
However, Michael was no pushover. Swiftly wrapping his other arm around Izeline’s waist, he dodged Robert’s fierce attack like a loach.
“Uh-oh?”
Dragged by his hand, Izeline, who was flapping like a paper doll, made a sour face at the unexpected scene.
She had expected an elegant and beautiful dance, but what was this?!
In the meantime, she felt her soul being sucked out of her as she was involuntarily twirled around and forced to take steps.
“What are you doing without music!”
Robert, who was about to lose his temper, shouted.
Regardless of her mood, in his eyes, the two of them seemed to be dancing like a pair of butterflies glued together. His insides felt like they were burning black as he watched Michael nimbly dodge his every move.
“I learned a popular dance from the Empire. How is it? Good?”
“Ugh! It’s too fast!”
Was this the original tempo? Or was it because he was dodging Robert? It seemed as if rose petals were scattering around Michael, who was the only one at ease.
Swoosh!
Just then, a hand of salvation reached out to her wrist. It was Robert who had finally managed to intercept Izeline after dozens of attempts.
“Aaah!”
However, it was just an illusion.
Embraced in an instant by an overwhelming force, she blinked in surprise.
“Oh…”
It felt like another ordeal was about to unfold.
After finally snatching her away, Robert looked at her stiffly and didn’t know what to do. Michael clicked his tongue.
“You have to ask the lady politely.”
In other words, he meant that he should kiss Izeline’s hand and then lead the dance like a gentleman. Of course, Robert knew the procedure. Still, for some reason, he just stared at Izeline and hesitated. Finally, the words that came out of his mouth were unexpected.
“Ugh.”
“Ugh?”
Held in his arms, Izeline, who was waiting for a dance request, glared at him with hurt pride. What was wrong with her?! Huh?!
When she tried to push him away, Robert bit his lower lip with a troubled expression.
As Izeline pulled away, he unconsciously grabbed her hand.
“Huh?”
Touch.
As her body turned halfway due to her hand being grabbed, she looked down at Robert, who was kissing the back of her hand with a gentlemanly posture, her eyes wide. With one hand behind his back and the other holding her hand tightly, he slowly raised his head. His face was red up to his ears.
She felt her face heat up as well.
As the boy, who had been so cute, acted like a gentleman, a strange and fluttering sensation took hold of her stomach.
“Le, let’s dance!”
Contrary to his polite gestures, Robert spoke in a combative tone.
Holding her hand with one hand and gently wrapping his arm around her back with the other, he followed the dance steps that Michael had just shown. However, having never attended a ball or learned how to dance, there was no way he could properly lead her after seeing it once. Moreover, he was nervous.
“Ouch!”
“So, sorry. Ack!”
And the same went for Izeline.
Screams filled the rhythm instead of music. The impromptu children’s ball came to an end as they happily stepped on each other’s feet.
