Becoming the Villain’s Family - Chapter 341
Chapter 341
‘Mom and Dad said they’d handle it, but…’
Elaina wasn’t really interested in causing trouble or inflaming her hero complex.
‘It seems like I should handle it myself.’
She still didn’t remember what the dream was about—only that she had seen a very unfamiliar landscape and strange people. But Elaina instinctively knew there had to be a reason why she, out of all the Valentines, had had this prophetic dream.
‘Is this what they call intuition?’
That very evening, a letter arrived at the Valiya Island residence, asking for a friendly social gathering between the four Ducal families and the Valentines. Elaina’s intuition flared up again.
“Mom, Dad, I want to go.”
“No.”
Lloyd and Aria, both experienced with prophetic dreams, quickly realized that the island was the location from her dream and strongly opposed the idea.
“Mom, Dad, going is okay.”
“…”
“Ella will have fun.”
Elaina, who usually tried her best to be a good daughter and not cause her parents any trouble, felt a strong urge to go.
‘For some reason, it feels like it’s going to be extremely dangerous if I don’t go myself.’
And this ‘danger’ seemed to signify something far beyond a mere threat to her life—a completely different level of crisis. She even felt an unsettling anxiety that everything precious to her could disappear without a trace.
“Mom, Dad, you know… seeing the sea was my dream.”
“…”
“Being with family would be so much fun…”
“…”
“….”
Eventually, Elaina managed to get permission, on the condition that she would stay close to Luca once she arrived on the island.
‘I was relieved for a whole week, thinking nothing would happen.’
But something did happen.
‘And it happened the moment I left Luca’s side.’
Elaina stopped in her tracks and took in the vast landscape before her. As she wandered aimlessly, she found herself facing a massive cave across the sea. It wasn’t so much blocking her path as it felt like it was beckoning her deeper inside.
Because…
‘I’ve seen this cave in my dream.’
Elaina had definitely entered the cave in her dream.
‘Mom told me to speak up if I saw anything strange.’
It wasn’t just Mom. Dad, Luca, Vincent, and Cloud all emphasized the same thing. They had described the crossing as involving the sea, but the tide was low enough that she could easily walk across. However, if she went now and came back, the cave would likely be submerged by the sea.
Would she even be able to find this place again?
‘It doesn’t seem likely.’
The cave was so enormous that it seemed out of place on such a small island. It felt as if it had been forcibly moved from somewhere else.
‘It seems like I might never find it again.’
And if that happened, it would be irrevocable. Determined, Elaina took a step toward the sea.
“Young, Young Lady!”
If it hadn’t been for Ugo suddenly rushing at her, she would have crossed by now. Her sunglasses went flying. Almost falling into the sea along with them, Elaina had no choice but to glare fiercely at him.
“What is this…?”
“What do you think you’re doing!”
But Ugo was quicker to react. Seemingly seeking revenge for being grabbed by the collar before, he gripped her shoulders tightly and shook her back and forth.
“I won’t presume to know what happened!”
“…?”
“But you can’t just give up so easily!”
What on earth was he talking about?
“Please remember that there are people who care deeply about you. Your family loves you more than their own lives.”
Elaina quickly understood that he had some ridiculous misunderstanding after seeing his eyes.
‘He must be referencing something he read yesterday.’
It was probably from a play or book, like Hamlet. Although she hadn’t read it, it seemed like the kind of dramatic and tragic literature that might be too intense for a child.
Realizing the need for a break from early education, Elaina sighed deeply.
“And if you need it… I, too, can be of help to Young Lady…”
Elaina gave a firm response to Ugo as his face reddened and fumbled with his words.
“I’m going to that cave over there.”
She pointed to the cave on the other side.
“……”
Ugo glanced between the cave and Elaina, then suddenly pulled his hands away, visibly startled. His face turned a deep red, as if he was standing next to a winter’s hearth.
Wow, people’s faces can actually turn that red.
Elaina said with curiosity.
“You should go back now.”
“No, I refuse.”
But Ugo kept refusing. Just as Elaina began to wonder if he might be a masochist who enjoyed humiliation, a familiar voice called out.
“Hey.”
It was Luca.
“Are you harassing our Ella now?”
Luca’s eyes, seen under the summer sun, were as beautiful as the green of a sunlit forest.
If only his pupils weren’t rapidly contracting and expanding.
Elaina stepped back in surprise, unable to ask when he had arrived.
‘His eyes are really messed up.’
It was a look she had only seen when he was extremely angry.
“Kid, it looks like you’re the one messing with Ella’s clothes like that.”
Ugo, who was grabbed in the collar, was actually in a worse shape.
Ugo frowned and said,
“There was a reason for that. I’ll apologize to the Young Lady separately, but it doesn’t seem like something the Young Lord needs to worry about.”
“Hmm? Are you defying me?”
“D-defying? And when did I ever…”
“Are you pointing that out? The Duke’s son correcting the Grand Duke’s son?”
“…….”
