Becoming the Villain’s Family - Chapter 295
Chapter 295
As he was suddenly hugged, Lloyd’s back muscles twitched under Aria’s touch. She traced her fingertips down his spine in a comforting motion. Lloyd stiffened for a moment then abruptly grabbed her wrist.
He poured scorn with his gaze.
“You couldn’t possibly be the Siren.”
“…”
“Don’t act so lowly.”
Lo, lowly? Aria was astounded and speechless.
If I’m acting lowly, what does that make you? What about all the things you did yesterday!
The frustration caused her to clench her teeth in indignation.
“Are you some kind of succubus?”
After saying that, Lloyd began to feel around Aria’s ankle, then, revealing his teeth, he let out a fierce laugh.
“One of the siren’s ankles was completely crushed. If you’re trying to imitate her, at least get it right.”
Her ankle was crushed?
‘Wait a minute.’
At this point, Aria was struck with a strong conviction.
‘Lloyd wouldn’t say such things to me.’
Even if he lost his sanity, it wouldn’t make sense.
From the moment he choked her, it was clear that this wasn’t Lloyd. Lloyd was always extremely careful even when he touched her cheek, as gentle as a butterfly’s wingbeat. He had never hugged her tightly enough to harm her, even in his sleep…!
‘So, who is this really?’
It was definitely him until she fell asleep, and nobody had taken Lloyd’s appearance through some form of transformation. She would recognize her husband’s body anywhere.
Then, Aria remembered him mentioning her ankle.
‘But that incident occurred before the regression…’
Yet, it was impossible.
With a moment of hesitation, she finally called out.
“…Grand Duke Valentine?”
Lloyd before the regression.
…..Or someone presumed to be. The body belonged to her husband, Lloyd.
‘This is confusing’.
Aria tried to think of a more plausible explanation than the absurd hypothesis of ‘pre-regression Lloyd’ occupying Lloyd’s body.
For instance, could Lloyd have suffered from partial amnesia…? However, nothing justified why Lloyd would treat Aria so recklessly now.
‘And those eyes are clearly different, belonging to another person….’
So, what to do next?
If it’s truly ‘pre-regression Lloyd’ inside her husband’s body, where has the current Lloyd gone?
‘Do I need to perform an exorcism?’
Should she call an exorcist or something?
As she suddenly started worrying about Lloyd crazily, Aria’s thoughts veered off course.
Meanwhile, Lloyd, still gripping her ankle firmly, caressed her left cheek.
“Looking at it now, your face is smooth too.”
Aria remembered having it in her past life. The deep burn scars that necessitated a half-mask at all times.
Lloyd’s gaze slid down from her cheek to her neck, his fingers traced the red marks.
He twisted his lips and made a cruel smile as he touched the lewd marks on her skin
“What succubus comes rolling in?”
It was with you….
Although she was appalled that he did such a thing after looking at his own marks, it firmed her belief that he truly wasn’t Lloyd.
‘Aren’t succubus supposed to appear in dreams to drain vitality?’
She was confused about why she was being treated like the devil.
As his hot breath touched her cheek and his hands brazenly invaded her clothes, her momentarily tidied appearance unraveled.
“Ah, wait, just wait!”
I can’t take it anymore!
‘Enough with treating me like some sort of devil!’
Disgustedly, Aria tried to shove him away fiercely. She was trying to. Yet, his overpowering force from above made it impossible for her to even budge.
Receiving such ruthless treatment for the first time, Aria herself was deeply bewildered.
“Don’t struggle. Did you not show up before me in this state for this reason?”
Actually, if we’re being precise, it was you who appeared before me.
‘And why, exactly, should I appear for this?’
Her head was throbbing.
Why was Lloyd, from before the regression, treated her as if she was some succubus in heat?
The image of Lloyd as her eternal savior was shattering, leaving her feeling a mix of disbelief and despair.
“Could you calm down for a moment, please?”
It’s Lloyd, yet not Lloyd…
Aria’s confusion manifested in how she addressed him.
“Grand Duke?”
It felt oddly necessary to address him not as Lloyd but as Grand Duke Valentine.
‘Never thought I’d see the day I’d address Lloyd with such formality.’
She thought it would be nice to come up with a special nickname unlike the usual ones, but how could she have known it would end up being ‘Your Grace’?
Even resorting to using formal language she’d never used before.
‘Definitely different, but…’
This wasn’t right. Aria was certain of it.
‘Since I can’t physically overpower him, I need to calm him down first, then perhaps call an exorcist or something.’
Aria thought so. Then she said,
“I am not the devil.”
“Appearing exactly like someone who’s already dead and you claim not to be the devil?”
“I haven’t died. I’m right here in front of you, Your Grace.”
“Ha….”
He let out a short, hollow laugh.
The kind from someone whose anger had bubbled over into amusement. His gaze, previously cold, now emitted a chilling, almost ghostly aura.
Aria felt a real threat to her life for the first time in a long while.
This was no joke. She might actually die here.
“Your Grace.”
But the more perilous the situation, the calmer Aria called out Grand Duke Valentine.
“This place is not hell, so let’s stop with the succubus talk. Please, just open the curtain and look outside the window.”
