Becoming the Villain’s Family - Chapter 250
Chapter 250
The Count definitely fell asleep after drinking the alcohol his wife had poured for him. Then when he woke up, he found himself in this basement.
Due to the sudden development, he was slow to understand the situation.
Count Valois, who finally learned the situation, opened his bloodshot eyes.
“……This is a trap!”
Sabina looked down in silence at the Count who kept saying the same thing.
Until his struggles quieted down and a bitter silence took over.
The Count belatedly recognized the temperature. The air in the basement was as cold as midwinter.
And, the sound.
“Father, can you hear this?”
Hot bloody screams continued to reverberate tirelessly in the cold space with thin ice everywhere. It was a dull sound coming from beyond the wall, but it clearly sounded like someone was being tortured.
“This, this sound….”
“I heard there’s a pretty good interrogator in Valentine. I’m glad I don’t have to get my hands dirty.”
“You, you! You bitch!”
Sabina did not flinch from his blatant murderous intent.
After experiencing Grand Duke Valentine, the Count, who already seemed insignificant, felt even more like an insect.
“If you confess your crimes, you will be publicly executed, along with the person you cherished so much, Gary Valois.”
“Gasp, gasp! No!”
“The crime of treason destroys three generations.”
The Count took a deep breath as Sabina added.
“No way. That’s ridiculous!”
The blueprint he had drawn was being torn apart before his eyes. In just a single moment.
“Do, do you think you will be safe?”
Sabina still had the surname of Valois. Because she wasn’t yet married.
But Sabina smiled and answered,
“I will be safe.”
Sabina left the basement. And frowned at the same time.
Since she was in the dark basement, the blue sky and cool autumn sunlight felt unfamiliar to her, so much so that they stung her eyes.
‘The basement and the air here are completely different.’
When she gazed up at the sky, she turned her head to the familiar smell of smoke.
Tristan was putting the cigarette, which he had just taken out, back into his chest.
“Isn’t that too soon? I thought you would get rid of your worries after meeting your blood relative for the first time in a long time. I can’t even smell blood.”
He asked.
He was asking why didn’t she go and beat up the Count now that she’s out for revenge?
Sabina remained silent, her eyes focused on the remains of the cigarette piled up at Tristan’s feet, and then spoke.
“If I was going to get my hands dirty, I wouldn’t have asked for Valentine’s help in the first place.”
“Really?”
Tristan smiled and took off the coat he was wearing and draped it over Sabina’s shoulders.
Her eyebrows immediately rose.
“What?”
“It’s cold.”
He noticed her slightly trembling body and said so.
How could he even notice that? Tristan has definitely changed since becoming aware of his feelings.
His attitude and tone remained the same, but it was clear that he had his full attention on her. As if Sabina was the only one who existed in this world.
Sabina looked up into his pitch black eyes.
Sabina, herself, was reflected like a mirror in those abyss-like eyes that contained nothing.
As if to fill his shattered humanity with her. As if he had become a whole person because of her.
It was such a blind look.
“What about my stepmother?”
Sabina felt like she was suffocating from embarrassment. So she said as if to change the subject.
“She was sent away to a place where the Emperor would never see her. There she could live out the rest of her life in peace.”
Sabina didn’t ask where it was.
She only cooperated with her stepmother in this matter, and she had no intention of seeing her again in the future.
She just needed her stepmother to be safe.
“Why are you biting your lip like that again?”
At that time, Tristan frowned and asked her in displeasure.
Her lips were as red as a flower, with blood dripping from them.
“It looks like the Count has really pissed you off.”
He bent down and swiped a drop of blood on her lip with his thumb and whispered in a low voice.
“If it’s something you can’t directly touch because it’s your family, just give the instructions. I’ll make it however you want.”
I will make it the way you want it to be.
Sabina thought for a moment.
“Would cutting off a limb make you feel better?”
At that moment, an intense murderous look exploded in Sabina’s eyes. But soon she closed her eyes.
“That’s fine. Doing that doesn’t mean the dead will come back.”
Red eyes were revealed again between dense eyelashes. It was a completely different light than usual.
The watery and cloudy eyes were like a precarious candle that would go out even at the slightest breath.
Tristan stiffened in surprise.
He unconsciously stretched out his hand but could not touch her. It felt like she would just collapse if he touched her.
“Just because I cut off the Count’s arms and legs, does that mean Allen didn’t actually betray me?”
Ever since Sabina heard the whole truth from Tristan, her heart broke every time the thought occurred to her.
She seemed to be floating aimlessly alone in the sea of ruin, clutching her mangled heart.
“… It might not be betrayal.”
“Yes, maybe he really cared about me.”
But what’s the use of it all?
