Battle Divorce! - Chapter 2
Chapter 1.2
She could feel his face coming closer and closer. Ba-dump, Ba-dump. Her heart pounded wildly in her chest.
Chu, soft lips pressed gently against hers. Daisy clenched her trembling hands tightly.
‘Once our lips touch, it’ll be over, right?’
But things didn’t go as she had expected.
“….!”
Their wet lips slid against each other, locking in a deep kiss, and suddenly, his warm tongue swiftly slipped between her teeth.
‘Why is his tongue… pushing its way in?’
Behind her tightly shut eyelids, Daisy’s eyes darted around in panic.
Startled, she instinctively took a step back, but Maxim’s strong arm quickly wrapped around her waist, holding her firmly in place so she couldn’t escape.
With her body flush against his and her lips captured by his, Daisy let out a small moan. She could feel her heart pounded wildly between their tightly pressed chests. The intense kiss left her head spinning, and all she could hear was the wet, messy sound of their lips and tongues.
Do people normally kiss this intensely… or rather, this inappropriately, in front of so many guests? Maybe…?
…No, there’s no way. There are certain limits, even for this.
Even the officiant seemed just as flustered, awkwardly clearing his throat.
‘Is this bastard some sort of perverted lunatic?’
No matter how she thought about it, that seemed like the only explanation.
She had vowed never to kill again after deciding to retire, but her fingers were itching for action. She wanted to pull out a hairpin and jab it into his carotid artery, but he was still her husband, even if only in name. For her, this was just a mission, but for him, this might actually feel like a real marriage. Maybe this was his last chance to feel his wife’s breath before heading off to his inevitable death.
Whether that was lucky or not, this man was set to leave for the battlefield right after the wedding, without even consummating the marriage.
And if she killed him, her million gold would vanish into thin air.
She tried to endure, thinking of the money, but her eyes shot wide open at the heavy sensation pressing against her stomach.
‘…Is he hard? In front of all the guests?’
No way. That couldn’t be it. Maybe he’s carrying an ammunition clip in his pocket or a cigar case… maybe even a gun?
She tried to rationalize it, but whatever it was, it was far too hot to be an inanimate object.
‘….!’
And then it twitched.
‘A perverted lunatic in heat!’
The kiss seemed to last an eternity, leaving her lightheaded from the lack of air.
Daisy’s toes curled, and she tried not to wobble as a light, teasing breath grazed her cheek.
But that wasn’t the only issue. As soon as his hand on her waist slid up her back, there was a sudden pop, and she felt her back loosen.
‘…Did it come undone?’
Her bra hook had come undone.
And with just a single touch.
Did he do it on purpose? Maybe it was an accident? No, I don’t believe it. He clearly wasn’t shy about getting aro*sed, so there was no way it was an accident.
Her mind was a chaotic, jumbled mess. Ironically, being freed from the tight undergarment eased the discomfort in her chest, but that didn’t stop the cold chill that ran down her spine.
“My apologies. Force of habit.”
Well, what a disgusting habit you have.
That’s when Daisy knew for sure that the man in front of her was a shameless, arrogant brute. The expressionless look he’d been wearing finally softened as he lazily smiled, his eyes narrowing in a way that seemed almost charming.
“I’ll keep it short today, just for formality’s sake. Don’t be too disappointed.”
…This is short?
Maxim wiped Daisy’s wet lips with his thumb as if he were doing her a favor, adding,
“There are too many eyes on us.”
Then, he whispered quietly in her ear.
“If I go any further, I don’t think I’ll be able to stop.”
Perverted bastard.
There must’ve been a reason why the reward for him was a million gold.
Daisy glanced down at her chest in a panic. Oh, dear God. Now that her chest was free from the constriction, her br**sts had swelled, and one wrong move might burst her dress open.
The wedding was over, and all that was left was the procession.
‘It’s still… up. Will he even be able to walk?’
Even though she tried not to focus on it, her eyes naturally drifted toward it. Feeling it had been terrifying, but seeing it made it even more real.
His trousers were so tented it looked like they might rip.
She could guarantee it as the one directly involved. Her face was on fire from how intense that kiss had been. It was a natural reaction for a strong man like him, but the issue was time and place!
‘How could anyone not look when it’s bulging like that?’
They were facing away from the guests, so no one had noticed yet… but once they started the procession, there would be no hiding it.
“Ahem, w-we will now conclude the wedding ceremony.”
Good gosh, even the officiant had noticed. Daisy, who had been awkwardly staring at her bouquet, stole a glance at her husband’s face, only to meet his gaze.
Maxim von Waldeck smiled—a bright, dazzling smile.
“Now, the bride and groom, please proceed down the aisle!”
Daisy hesitantly linked arms with her husband and started down the aisle. Just thinking about everyone watching them made it impossible for her to look up. The groom had that situation going on, and the bride’s undergarment had come undone. What a complete nightmare.
Her legs trembled from the embarrassment.
As they reached the chapel’s entrance, Daisy was practically clinging to his arm. Maxim von Waldeck bent down and whispered into her ear.
“I’ll be back soon, wife.”
Yes, it was nice meeting you. Rest in peace.
“We’ll consummate the marriage when I return.”
You dream big, don’t ya? May you pass on peacefully.
She assumed it was just his wishful thinking of a blissful future.
Poor guy.
Despite everything, she almost got a little teary-eyed thinking about his fate as his wife.
…Little did she know, the man who was sent off as cannon fodder would soon return as a war hero.
