At the End of the Hidden Greenery - Chapter 73.1
The village of El Ragneil was built around the singular Elandos. After they left this continent, the base they had built before had long since crumbled.
While the wizard Helkainis and the alchemist Enciertes quickly restored their home, Jiwoo had drifted off into a long slumber.
She slept very comfortably for a long time, catching up to a good night’s sleep that she couldn’t get while struggling here.
Sometimes, when she opened her eyes, she ate the food they prepared and went back to sleep. When she asked someone to sleep, they would hug her and literally sleep by each other’s sides. She even dreamed about the nice scent from them and the hands that gently stroked her back.
After interacting with Elandos, she felt like she was floating in the sky. That exhilarating yet comfortable feeling was enough to relieve the tension in her whole body.
As the strange elation faded, Jiwoo woke up.
Then the preparations for the wedding began, such as making the dress and choosing the color and shape of the jewels. All decisions were guided by a group of people represented by Callandein.
It was a relaxed yet busy and strange daily life.
Considering how long they had lived, everyone had their own talents, so they made all the dresses and jewelry themselves.
It didn’t even take long. Time passed like water just by watching them.
At first, she was very shy, but now Jiwoo has permeated the crowd a lot. In addition to the five she had become close with, she was gradually getting closer with the others as well.
“Seo Jiwoo.”
It seemed that Helka’s work, which was working hard to rebuild the village, had been sorted out to some extent. He brought other people in front of Jiwoo, who was preparing for the wedding, and introduced them.
“I’m sorry that you’re busy. Can I talk to you for a minute?”
“No, I’m not busy.”
Looking back, there were other groups of the other race who didn’t have much interest in Jiwoo until they crossed the continent. They hesitated and wanted to talk to her, but they didn’t approach her easily.
Jiwoo seemed to know what they wanted before they even opened their mouths.
“Um… I can go out for a while? I’ve picked all I can choose from, and I think I can leave the rest entirely to Callan.”
Callan, who was next to her, quickly realized what Jiwoo wanted.
“Are you going to treat the other Elandos as well?”
“I’m going to try.”
If Jiwoo had shed blood to heal Elandos or was sacrificing her life, she would have hesitated. She had no intention of helping others by sacrificing herself.
But there was something she couldn’t easily forget. When she put her hand on the withered tree to heal this group’s Elandos, it felt as if her body had become a tree and was in communion with a part of nature.
She was basked in a feeling of exhilaration, as though she was freed from the frame of her body and scattered in the world—as though she was freed from the restraints of her body and had flown away. It was a sense of joy that could not be described merely as pleasure.
Jiwoo looked down at her hand, recalling her feelings at that time.
When she looked up, the people’s expressions, including Helka, weren’t very good. He was smiling, but he didn’t look very happy.
Was he worried? In the meantime, they were worried that Jiwoo was weighed down by the weight of being the Akarna.
But she also wanted to show that this is not the case anymore.
“Actually, I want to try again.”
Jiwoo said that she was okay, but their expressions still showed no signs of loosening up.
“Are you against it?”
“We don’t have the qualifications for that. But…”
Helka closed his eyes and sighed as he spoke. She looked around at the others, and others nearby were also deep in thought.
Jiwoo tilted his head.
“I will also receive a reward.”
“Actually, that’s the biggest problem.”
Callan lowered his voice somewhat and spoke privately to Jiwoo.
“I feel like they’re going to sell themselves as a reward.”
“No! I won’t accept that!”
Jiwoo raised her voice in embarrassment, then lowered her voice again like Callan.
The children of Elandos had unnecessarily good ears, so it seemed like they heard everything they just said anyway.
“But you can change your mind. If they have an idea, they’ll just try to seduce you, right?”
“Ah… it’s okay because I don’t have much intention of getting married unless it’s you guys.”
Enci, who was still quiet, responded to those words. His expression was very grim, as if there was something he didn’t like.
“You’re not married yet.”
“Then, is it okay to get married before going? They won’t touch a married woman, right?”
“M-Married woman…”
Tevon repeated the word and hiccupped.
“Then I am a married man?”
“Yes.”
“That sounds good.”
Callan immediately lifted Jiwoo and pushed Tevon away, who was quite ready to dance.
“Seo Jiwoo. Well, I feel a little bit rushed, but for tomorrow or the day after tomorrow… Haa.”
Callan always spoke without hesitation, yet at this rare occasion, he was hesitating. He wasn’t saying anything out of the ordinary, but he seemed a little shy.
“I’m thinking about starting the first night, what do you think?”
“What?”
Did she just hear that wrong? They were in the middle of preparing for the wedding right now, and in fact, they were rushing the schedule because other groups were waiting anxiously.
She had just picked out a dress and some jewels for her to wear to the ceremony.
“We haven’t even been married yet?”
“What?”
Helka, who had been overhearing the strangely incoherent conversation, drew attention by clearing his throat.
“Seo Jiwoo, the first night comes before the ceremony.”
“What? Why?”
Lanceil, who had been so polite, even interrupted.
“To get married, it’s not okay if our performance in the bedroom isn’t comfortable for you.”
“That’s right. You should try and consider everything before you settle down.”
Seeing as Callan spoke as if taking it for granted and the others weren’t really arguing with him, it seemed like this was pretty common.
However, Jiwoo seemed a little dizzy from that atmosphere.
“I hear you guys can’t marry another woman anymore. You guys are already used to… No, have experience.”
“Yes, right?”
“Well then… What if I refuse to get married because I’ll change my mind after the first night?”
Of course Jiwoo didn’t mean to do that, but she had no choice but to ask so. It was a significant risk for them.
“Oh, you’re worried about what happens when our group all become used items.”
Used items, he said. Jiwoo shut her eyes tightly and touched her forehead at the embarrassing word of choice.
“There’s no helping it? We weren’t chosen because we couldn’t do well. But it’s our job to make you think that way…”
“Seo Jiwoo, do you like how we look?”
With Helkainis’ words, Jiwoo looked around at them.
Helkainis and Tevon were standing close to her, Callandein were looking this way, Lanceil and Enciertes sitting in a chair a little further apart, and a few other people whose names she hasn’t memorized yet, who were helping with the preparations for today’s wedding.
From the first time she entered the green-gold village with Lanceil as her guide, their looks drew the most attention.
As their conversation got longer, the other group waited at a distance out of politeness.
Jiwoo honestly nodded her head.
“Because we exist to seduce.”
Their good body scent, sweet bodily fluids, beautiful appearance, and stout body shape, all of which attracted the opposite sex existed only for one thing.
Callan approached Jiwoo and pulled her hand to touch his face and body.
“Since we are born from Elandos, we don’t even have to have s*x to sire the next generation. So, why do we still exist?”
Even the s*men of the children of Elandos did not have the capability for conception.
Unlike what the humans had, which are rather sharp smelling and repulsive, their s*men smelled more enticing than flowers and lifted her spirits when it touched her skin. The s*men functioned to intoxicate, bring into heat, and surely seduce the other person.
“So if we get a chance, we’ll use it as best we can. If we can’t perform properly, we’re as good as garbage. If we end up being used items, you don’t have to worry…”
Hearing everything, Jiwoo just laughed.
“Callan, okay, stop it.”
* * *
Callan said it would be two days later, but the first night was prepared four days later.
Standing under Elandos, Jiwoo looked around at the thirty well-dressed men.
Dressed up, their clothes were neat and splendid. Those with long hair like Callan were neatly arranged on one side, hanging down or decorated with small flowers. The one with short hair like Enci was neatly combed over without decoration or with branches.
Maybe because their cultures were different? They seemed to think that if Jiwoo were to be seduced by other groups with stronger physical pleasures, they might indeed lose.
Seo Jiwoo didn’t really care about that, but they were more concerned.
So when they say they rush the first night, she doesn’t understand, but they seem to be satisfied with that. So she just watched.
The men took turns greeting her, kissing Jiwoo on the back of her hand in order to show respect.
Lanceil was first, Hellkainis was next, Callandein was third, Enciertes was fourth, and Tevon… She couldn’t remember what happened next. After exchanging greetings with thirty people, Helkainis brought something to Jiwoo.
Still, she couldn’t get used to it.
“But do I really… have to cover my eyes?”
“Yes, you must wear this.”
It was a soft, thin cloth. If it was this thin, light could pass through it, but just putting the thin cloth on her eyes made her vision dark.
As Helka fixed it, the blindfold stuck to her like skin. There was no pressure, and it didn’t feel like something was covering her eyes. It was as if she had just fallen into a dark cave where she could not see ahead.
Jiwoo asked, feeling a little uneasy as the light went out in her vision.
“When can we finish it? Five days?”
“No.”
Someone whispered in her ear. The voice somehow clung to her ears, perhaps because one of her five senses was blocked.
She couldn’t tell whose voice it was.
“Until you receive our seed. All thirty of us.”
