Chapter 30.1
“It seems that His Highness and the Madam haven’t arrived yet.”
Chelias glanced around and smiled at Calia.
“You’ve been through a lot of trouble because of the rumors.”
Calia was choked up.
“Nevertheless, His Highness acknowledges Calia’s meritorious service. Don’t worry. He’s not the one to be shaken by such rumors.”
That wasn’t the problem.
As she glanced at Zen, a neat face was visible beneath flowing black hair.
‘I’m glad Zen didn’t misunderstand.’
Thankfully, there was no misunderstanding since they both had served under Cassel. Still, the thought that Zen had misunderstood sent shivers down her spine.
“Oh, there’s a carriage coming.”
Chelias spotted the emblem of the Imperial Family coming from afar. And behind it, other carriages were also approaching.
‘…Are those reporters?’
Calia was delighted.
Indeed, Cassel was moving to quell the rumors.

As Cassel stared at Leilia, she, too, brushed his cheek while gazing back at him.
“Are you ready?”
He said he was ready to fight the Emperor, who wanted him to divorce.
“Yes. I’m ready.”
Leilia nodded.
Cassel chose himself over the honor bestowed by the Emperor. If he had decided to live that way, she wanted to support him. Even though it would have been easier to just divorce and be done with it, after living with Cassel for a few days, she became addicted to being by his side. She couldn’t easily contemplate divorce as she used to.
And above all, he wanted her.
He wanted to live with her as his wife, not with someone else. If that was what he wanted, she wanted to make it happen. She wanted to stay with him until he no longer wanted her by his side.
She’d got that kind of greed, even if she would get entangled in a struggle for imperial power.
“Let’s go out.”
The warm sunlight welcomed them as he opened the carriage door and stepped out.
“Your Highness!”
Cassel’s subordinates gathered in front of the carriage.
Among them was Calia.
Holding Cassel’s hand and descending from the carriage, she greeted them. Now, a different kind of battle that wasn’t a war was about to unfold.

“I’m Reporter Ross.”
The reporter greeted Leilia and Cassel. While they had heard the story that Cassel had sent a telegram to a prominent newspaper outlet, they hadn’t expected it to happen so soon.
With his green hair cut short, Ross introduced himself to Leilia and Cassel.
“Thank you for inviting our newspaper.”
“Welcome.”
Leilia smiled at him, confidence accompanying the gently flowing smile. It seemed like she could answer any questions the reporter might ask.
“You moved to the mansion today, and it’s truly beautiful. Could you share your thoughts about this place?”
Ross first asked the appropriate questions. Leilia and Cassel each shared their thoughts. In particular, Leilia’s expression brightened as she looked around as if she liked this place more than the narrow mansion they had before.
“And there’s one thing I want to confirm. It’s a delicate question, but everyone is curious because His Highness Cassel has been showing different actions than what was predicted.”
It seemed like an important question was about to come. Leilia stared at Cassel with nervous eyes.
“What is it?”
“I heard a rumor that you’re not getting a divorce.”
After saying that, Ross then glanced at Leilia.
“I apologize for the blatant nature of the question.”
This must be what the world was interested in.
“I’m not a heartless man enough to abandon my wife.”
As he said those words, Cassel continued.
“And the rumors about the mistress are false.”
Ross widened his eyes at his words.
“The subordinate known as the mistress is a competent subordinate, so she’s by my side, and we aren’t in any relationship. The rumors are false, and anyone spreading such rumors in the future will be severely punished.”
His firm words sent Ross scurrying to write them down. He was excited that Cassel personally addressed the mistress issue himself. It was an unexpected scoop.
“Isn’t this worth it?”
Ross grinned in response to Cassel’s words.
“Of course.”
“Publish the news quickly before other newspaper companies hear about this.”
It meant for him to spread the news as quickly as possible.
“Of course. I’ll do that.”
Ross nodded as if it were obvious.
After he left, Leilia looked at Cassel with worried eyes before she opened her mouth.
“The one who spreads false rumors is the Emperor, so is it okay to say such things?”
Even though she was worried about him, in response, he pulled her by her waist and smiled.
“Are you worried?”
“It’s my husband’s business.”
“If it doesn’t come out like that, he isn’t the kind of person who will break his stubbornness.”
