Chapter 27.1
“I’ve never heard that you take naps regularly.”
“Yes, but…”
“Hmm, is there a lot to do?”
There was nothing to do too much.
“There was a lot of work.”
It wasn’t because of that.
Leilia pursed her lips, unsure of what to say to the worried Cassel.
“Please come this way.”
Upon Cassel’s words, she moved to sit next to him.
“Turn your body slightly.”
As soon as she turned her body, he placed his hand on her shoulder.
“I used to do this for my subordinates when their muscles get tense.”
As his rough hands massaged her shoulders, the place he pressed suddenly hurt.
“Please be a little more gentle.”
Seeing her hunched her shoulders as she uttered, he relaxed his grip slightly. Leilia closed her eyes to the touch of his hands, giving her a shoulder massage in consideration of all the paperwork she had to do.
It was calm and quiet.
However, he moved his hand away and gently pressed his nose against her head.
“I can smell it.”
She was puzzled by his blunt words.
‘I don’t really smell like anything, do I? Besides, I don’t have a strong body scent either…?’
Though it seemed like he was smelling something.
“It’s the scent of Leilia.”
Was it an illusion that his words sounded fervid? The next moment, he kissed her on the head before planting a kiss on her slightly arched back.
“Right now… we’re inside the carriage.”
If they did anything here, it might make noise.
Hearing her words, Cassel made her look at him again and whispered.
“I’ll just hold you.”
“Cassel.”
“I’ll endure because Leilia is tired.”
Uttering so, he gently caressed her cheek. However, his touch was warm and gave her a strange sensation, and her face grew even warmer.
“What do you want to do when you arrive there?”
He answered her question with a soft smile.
“I want to take a walk on the beach together.”
His face slightly reddened as he finished his words.
“On the battlefield, all I can see is the sand, so I want to see the sea.”
The place he was at was a place with sand and desert. Because of that, the sea was out of reach, even in dreams. Perhaps that was why he chose the beach as their destination this time. The thought occurred to her.
Leilia clasped his hand tightly.
“Let’s go together.”
They were headed to a small villa by the seaside. Even though it was a villa owned by the head of the Hyllan association, Cassel had specially arranged for the two of them to go there. Still, it seemed like it would be okay because Cassel had already revealed that the head of the Hyllan association was his patron.
They planned to visit a small town near the villa, have dinner there, and then take a walk on the beach in the evening. Since the trip was planned that way, the carriage was running towards the restaurant.
“It’s been a while since I had steak.”
Leilia loved steak, especially dishes made with high-quality meat. Knowing this, Cassel whispered to her with a smile.
“Are you looking forward to it?”
“Cassel, you’ve been eating tough and tasteless meat too.”
To be honest, once she tasted the dishes Natale made, the food prepared by other chefs became just average. The cook from the mansion brought over by the palace couldn’t cook. Perhaps that was why, later on, she visited Natale’s house more often, wanting to eat delicious food.
“Thanks to Leilia, I could enjoy good ingredients and delicious meals even when I was on the battlefield.”
“Of course.”
When she sent supplies to him, she paid attention to vegetables and meat since she honestly found it difficult to trust the ingredients provided by the country. Moreover, she didn’t know what the Crown Prince might do, so she told Cassel to eat only the food made from ingredients sent from the Hyllan association.
“The more you are on the battlefield, the better you have to eat.”
“You wrote that in the letters, too.”
Cassel smiled as he recalled that time.
“How did the subordinates react?”
“They were pleased. They said it felt worthwhile to live knowing that delicious food was waiting for them after the battle.”
As she could feel a weight on her shoulders as she listened to his words, Leilia rested her head on his shoulder.
In response, he gently stroked her head.
The carriage was making a noise as it was running.
