Chapter 18.2
“You must be tired from all the traveling, so I’ll see you then.”
As his eyes turned cold, his gaze towards her was sharp.
‘Cassel.’
What could be his thoughts about doing this so blatantly? In the meanwhile, Cassel slowly smiled as he caught the scent of the flowers she had prepared.
Leilia gazed at that beautiful smile in a daze for a moment.
‘My hope hasn’t crumbled…’
Indeed, he was really waiting for her at the end of the procession.

‘Leilia was behind.’
From the moment Canaria attempted to present him with a bouquet, he sensed something was amiss. It was peculiar that his wife wasn’t standing at the forefront, and the Emperor’s behavior felt suspicious.
[ T/N: Thank GOD he isn’t one of those stupid male leads!! ๐·°(⋟﹏⋞)°·๐ ]
‘No way.’
Could it be that he was foolish enough to attach him to another woman? Cassel couldn’t fathom such a thought. Moreover, the bouquet had undoubtedly been arranged by the Emperor through Canaria.
‘How foolish!’
His reasons for participation in the war had been clear from the beginning. He had explicitly stated that he did it to be by Leilia’s side.
As he politely declined Canaria’s bouquet, his eyes finally found Leilia stepping forward. She was adorned in a beautiful outfit, holding an exquisite bouquet of flowers.
‘Those must be…’
It seemed like she must’ve prepared it through the Hyllan merchants association.
“Why are you at the back?”
Naturally, his wife should be standing at the front. His remark obviously reproached the Emperor for not doing so.
“It’s because it feels uncomfortable sitting in the front row.”
After saying that, Leilia tried to move past the situation.
‘…What in the hell happened to my wife?’
How could she say that? She appeared nonchalant as if nothing had happened… no, in this situation, she should be the one most upset?
“ I’ll stop by the mansion and attend the banquet with my wife.”
It was necessary to inform the emperor one more time… the reason why he participated in the war.

After exchanging a few words with his subordinates, Cassel came out separately and returned to where Leilia was.
“There aren’t any places for the subordinates to stay?”
He nodded at her question.
“Yes, but…”
“This is from the Hyllan association.”
Saying so, she held out a small envelope.
“They can stay at the hotel.”
In the capital, there was also a hotel owned by the Hyllan Merchant’s Association. Leilia had considered their needs and arranged for them to stay there.
“Give it to your subordinates.”
“You don’t have to go this far.”
“They are Cassel’s people.”
She smiled brightly as she responded. The sight of her made his cheeks flush, and Cassel sighed before he quickly went back to the subordinates. Even from a distance, it was evident that they were delighted to receive the accommodation vouchers.
Eventually, he walked back towards her with firm steps.
“Let’s go home.”
He held her hand affectionately as they walked. Around her neck shone the necklace she had gotten
“I should change the necklace.”
“You mean this?”
“It’s a banquet, so I need to wear a new necklace.”
Leilia was in a good mood.
Not only that she was delighted that Cassel had called for her and given a blow to the Emperor, but she was relieved that he had chosen to leave his mistress behind as they were heading home together.
“Is that a gift for Leilia?”
“It’s a gift from the Hyllan association.”
At her words, Cassel touched the necklace with his hand.
“You can just wear this.”
Those words sparked a flame, and her body grew warm.
As they entered the carriage, she gently released the hand that held his. She couldn’t help it as her palms became sweaty, and her heart raced uncontrollably in her chest as she held his hand.
‘Cassel.’
He had no way of knowing, but she had missed him deeply during his absence. The memories of their first night together still lingered in her body, and gazing at his lips, she yearned for a kiss, to be embraced in his arms, and to feel his love.
Such desires wriggled and blossomed within her.
‘Not yet.’
It hadn’t been long since he returned, and she didn’t want to beg him for love and affection. However, being close to him made her desires surge, and Leilia feared her feelings might be all too evident on her face.
Just as she tried to create some distance between them, all of a sudden, Cassel pulled her back to his side.
“Why are you going over there?”
“That’s…”
Her cheeks flushed slightly.
‘What’s the use of hiding anything?’
…It was all written on her face.
“Do you hate me for not granting you a divorce?”
However, Cassel suddenly said something different. Leilia widened her eyes as she gazed at him.
“What do you mean?”
