Chapter 56.1
“But His Highness Cassel doesn’t seem to be around.”
“You saw him just a little while ago.”
At Leilia’s response, Teyrn’s eyes widened. He touched his lips thoughtfully, then smiled.
“That explains why he was so incredibly strong. I honestly thought I was up against the champion in the first round.”
He turned his gaze back to the arena. The first-round matches were still going strong, and the atmosphere was electric.
“There aren’t many in the Empire who could beat him.”
‘He’s actually a Sword Master.’
Leilia thought quietly to herself. It wasn’t something she could reveal just yet.
“Still, you did well!”
Alesha smiled sweetly as she spoke. Teyrn nodded, a faint blush rising on his cheeks.
They stayed where they were, waiting for the preliminaries to wrap up. The knight in the tiger mask breezed through every match and advanced without any trouble.

Teyrn and Alesha stood close, with Leilia next to them. People glanced at her in surprise, seeing her without Cassel.
‘This feels strange.’
She was so used to being by Cassel’s side that being alone felt unnatural. It seemed like she had already gotten accustomed to his presence. Before, something like this would have made her uneasy, but not now. With him opening up and drawing closer to her, the change felt natural.
“Here he comes.”
At Teyrn’s voice, Leilia lifted her head. He had changed out of his competition gear and was walking over with Calia and Zen.
“Did you catch the match?”
Cassel asked as he came closer, and Leilia walked up with a gentle smile.
“The match ended a bit anticlimactically.”
“I was holding back, and it still ended like that.”
After saying this, he extended his hand to Teyrn.
“I’m Cassel Jen Roten.”
“Teyrn Hosel. I believe this is our first time meeting in a private setting.”
With those words, he shook Cassel’s hand.
“Zen, Calia, you two can rest now.”
“Then, enjoy the rest of your evening.”
Zen said this and gave Teyrn a respectful nod. Calia also gave a small bow, and the two of them walked off in opposite directions.
Everyone returned to their carriages. Leilia leaned in and gently wiped the sweat from Cassel’s forehead as she spoke softly.
“Dinner should be just about ready.”
“There’s rarely anyone who can cook as well as Natale.”
“That’s true.”
They invited Teyrn and Alesha to the restaurant where Natale was. The mansion’s head chef was talented, but even he couldn’t hold a candle to Natale. Besides, Natale had a knack for tailoring dishes to suit people’s tastes. Leilia had already asked Alesha about what Teyrn liked, so she trusted her uncle to get it just right.
“You were incredible out there.”
“Are you talking about me?”
“You won every single match like that.”
Leilia narrowed her eyes teasingly as she spoke. In response, Cassel pulled her gently into his arms without a word.
“You know I wasn’t using my full abilities, right?”
“Obviously. You didn’t even use your aura.”
“That’s right.”
As he spoke, Cassel released his aura. The blue energy, now more intense than before, swept over Leilia’s body. She felt its chill and the unmistakable clarity in it, then quietly commented,
“It feels purer than before.”
“That’s because I’ve reached the intermediate level.”
He let out a sigh.
“I need to reach the advanced level before we can have a child.”
“Don’t rush yourself.”
If it meant having a child, she was willing to wait as long as it took.
“Any child you have will be beautiful.”
His cheeks grew warm, as if he were picturing that future. He gently reached out and caressed Leilia’s cheek. At the soft brush of his hand, she turned her gaze slightly aside.
‘What was he thinking when he said that any child I have would, of course, be his?’
Did he already have feelings for her back then? Or had they only grown after he came back?
But Leilia didn’t ask.
Now that Cassel had fully opened his heart to her, she figured that someday, when the moment felt right, she might finally ask.

Natale greeted Alesha, Teyrn, Cassel, and Leilia with a warm smile as they entered. He handed Cassel a bouquet to celebrate his success in the preliminaries.
“A little gift for making it through the prelims.”
“Thank you.”
Cassel smiled as he accepted the bouquet from Natale. Leilia couldn’t help but feel a warm flutter watching the exchange.
“Did Leilia ask you to prepare this?”
“Well, it would’ve been awkward to give it in public, so she asked me to do it.”
“Uncle, it was supposed to be a secret.”
“There’s no real reason to keep something like this secret, is there?”
“Still.”
Alesha and the Duke of Hosel were watching, after all.
